A proposal to start NATS Scholarship program for needy students.

Introduction

NATS is an open and transparent organization where service is emphasized. NATS now is planning to spearhead in expanding its youth programs through Ask a Youth Mentor program. NATS wants to establish a visible, recognized platform to go for youth. This will help to bring the issues and concerns on one platform that built bridges between the city, schools and community organizations. NATS also feels that Establishing meaningful opportunities for youth to be involved in community service, policy advocacy or personal enrichment and benefit the community at large. NATS wants to establish a meaningful youth and adult Partnerships. With appropriate support from adult, youth exercise responsibility and leadership. NATS youth can take lead roles in running a teen council, organizing cultural shows, mentoring, training, youth leadership conference, becomes a big brother and sister for the other youth etc.

Purpose

One of the most pressing needs is in education today is funding for scholarships. Scholarships allow deserving students to attain their educational goals, meet their professional objectives and succeed to their fullest ability. Scholarships can help needy students who cannot afford the cost of books, dorm, fee, partial tuition assistance etc.

A great way to give back to the community is to consider starting a scholarship fund of our own. NATS can determine the requirements that applicants must meet to receive funds.

Funding

Funds towards the scholarship program will be solicited from different resources like, Individuals, Grants, Philanthropies, partnerships, fundraising events etc.

Summary

North America Telugu Society (NATS) is a non-profit youth oriented national organizationand its primary objective is to address the needs and concerns that affect the everyday lives of Telugu people living in North America. The Society will provide needed social, financial and educational support services to the community in an effective and efficient manner. Establishing a NATS scholarship program will create a next step for the needy youth and a place to go platform.
